Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples honeycrisp, granny smith or a mix, peeled
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
For the Topping
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter melted

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the peeled apples and toss them in a bowl with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread the mixture into a greased cast iron skillet.
  3. In another bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
