There’s nothing like a warm pot of chili after a long day on the trail. This recipe is simple, filling, and made for UTV adventurers who cook with fire (or portable stoves).

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 can kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 14.5 oz diced tomates
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 packet chili seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Optional shredded cheese, green onions, crackers

Equipment

  • 1 cast-iron skillet or pan

Method
 

  1. Heat your cast-iron skillet or pot over medium flame
  2. Brown the mean and drain excess fat
  3. Add onions and cook until soft
  4. Stir in tomatoes, beans, chili seasoning, and water
  5. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until thickened
  6. Serve hot and (optional) top with cheese, green onion, crackers
